About EarlyStageProfessional.comEarlyStageProfessional.com is a resource for professionals at all stages of their careers but is specifically for those in the first 5 to 10 years in the workplace. It is a companion website to the book Early Stage Professional: starting off right.
What's in a name? Why Early Stage Professional and not "Millennial Professional". "Millennial" carries a lot of weight and is pretty much a pejorative term. It is frequently combined with "entitled". This is unfair. While many members of the new group of professionals coming into the workplace have high expectations this is universal across all generations. Instead of judging we should work to help these new professionals adapt to life after the comparatively safe environments of Home, High School and College. Early Stage Professional does not sell the tired ideas of how to be "success", instead our goal is to help employees be truly effective and fulfilled in the workplace. Dare we say it, but as fulfilled, effective and high performing professionals, success is far more likely than chasing success for success' sake! Fergus is the author of Early Stage Professional: starting off right and is an experienced manager and Digital Media executive who has worked in a variety of businesses in the United States and the United Kingdom for almost 20 years. In addition, Fergus is a regular writer for USA Today, check out his work!
Prior to his move into Digital, Fergus worked in the Financial Services industry in London. A dual British / American citizen, Fergus currently lives in London with his wife, Sabeen.
